Renovation Required Before Adoption Approval

We got some frustrating and upsetting news yesterday. The State will not approve us as an adoptive resource for children until our septic system is repaired or replaced.

Before we can get the septic system replaced we have to have a percolation test done on our soil: approximately $400. Let's pray it comes back alright.

Also, Engineered Solutions of Georgia came to look at our basement to inspect it. They are recommending several things that need to be done to stop the water from coming in: approximately $10,000. I'm sure when the Home Study visits happen if they see water in our basement they'll tell us to get it repaired. So, we are going to go ahead and get these repairs done also.

The septic system quote was over $20,000.

So, somehow we are going to need to get around $35,000 to get these fixes done. We are going to look at home renovation loans, refinancing the house, and other options. We haven't gotten the final quotes for both projects yet. I'll keep you posted when they come in.

This won't prevent us from adopting. It is just delaying it from happening.

Please keep us in your prayers. Pray for peace, direction, and help getting the finances for these repairs. Also pray we get the right people to do the repairs. I don't want to have to get the repairs done more than once because we hired the wrong people.
